Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated is coming to mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play Store in a couple of weeks! Here’s everything we know…
When you think “cult classic”, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom might not be the first game that pops to mind. However, this is how the Sponge-inspired platformer is being described nowadays.
Although it didn’t release to a huge critical success in 2003, the Rehydrated remaster of the Spongebob adventure did a little better critically. In a similar fashion to Crash Bandicoot and Spyro, Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom was remastered and re-launched last summer to much nostalgic cheer.
Now, if you don’t own a console, you can pick up the Spongebob Squarepants on both iOS and Android mobile devices Jan 21! It’s unsure whether the mobile port, handled by HandyGames, will include the newly-added co-operative horde mode that was brought in through THQ Nordic’s remaster.
The spongetacular remake of this fan-favorite title will have players battle raging robots with bubble blasting abilities and show the evil Plankton once and for all that the secret formula belongs to no one other than Mr. Krabs himself. Play as SpongeBob, Patrick, and Sandy and use each one’s unique set of skills. Run, bounce, and underpants-bungee-jump through Bikini Bottom and meet countless characters from the beloved television series. The battle is on!OpenCritic Review on Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for bikini Bottom Rehydrated
